This cube... is FAST... I main a GAN 12 on looser tensions with fast lubes for reference, and OH MY GOD... this cube is unwieldy even in my hands. I literally unboxed it... said "Can i get a U4"... and with one flick got a U4. After some Comet it helped add some friction between the tracks and gave it a bit more control, But OOTB this cube is a six sided fidget spinner. Turning feel is blocky and airy, feeling somewhere between a Gan 12 and a WRM 10, If you have ever tried or own a SuperWeilongV2 The hand feel is basically identical, although I would say the V11 is EVEN FASTER due to the lighter magnet strength and lack of adjustability.
This cube is unlike any other, and would get 5 stars if it weren't for one, in my opinion Fatal flaw. The corner cutting on this puzzle... is AWFUL.... beyond 4 tensions forward gets VERY sketchy and struggles past 30 degrees, and FORGET ABOUT REVERSE. it will not even do line to line as the corner peice and center peice are both squared instead of rounded... Meaning the corner will just flat out catch on the center and it will not cut. At first i thought maybe i was just being unreasonable... but after seeing i was only set to tension 4, and my V10 Can make those cuts on the same tension with no problem, it is ABSOLUTELY an issue of design. You can visibly see where the Corner and Center catch on each other and the lack of any florian cuts on the center to allow it to cut those angles... Which is baffling to me because Moyu are known take that into consideration when designing a new puzzle and typically do not deliver this poor of performance. As a result I have found the cube to only be usable on the loosest tensions while using compression to dial it in. I am absolutely in love with this puzzle, and will be maining it for the foreseeable future. But i cannot in good conscience give this puzzle more than 3 stars for such a catastrophic flaw in adjustability, no modern 3x3 should be completely unable to cut 30 degrees on a tension above halfway, especially when those tensions are PRE PRESCRIBED and there is no ****. If theres 8 tensions, give me 8 tensions, not 2 semi usable ones and 6 bad ones. Like i almost feel like this cube suffers from the same but opposite range issue as the Tornado V3, where some of the tension options just make no sense and hamper performance.
This cube is definitely a main out of the box for me, however I would not buy it without trying it... I do not think this is as safe of a reccomendation as the V10 was and your milage will definitely vary especially with the 20 magnet version. I love fast cubes and can deal with blocky turning, so it works well for me. But this is definitely a release I would say you need to try before you buy. Hopefully v12 actually has 8 Usable and good tensions out of the box 🤷
