MoYu just released the 2022 version of their popular RS3 M series - the MoYu Super RS3 M 3x3. Does this "super" cube live up to its name?
Specifications
The Super RS3 M has three different versions. The Magnetic version is the cheapest and is currently priced at $9.95, a dollar more than the MoYu RS3 M 2020. The MagLev version is the middle-priced option at $14.95, a dollar more than the MoYu RS3 M 2021. It features a MagLev compression system instead of springs, which reduces the friction between layers when turning. Lastly, the Ball-Core version is the most premium option at $19.95. It features MagLev compression, corner-core magnets, and a new ball-core system.
All three versions are 56 millimeters across and come in glossy stickerless plastic.
MoYu decided to give the Super RS3 M a printed-on blue logo instead of their regular logo sticker, which some people may like.
Piece Design
MoYu has changed their piece design to have a new "dragon scale" texture, which is intended to distribute lubricant evenly and make it last longer.
In addition, the stalks of the pieces are colored differently to indicate the version of the cube. The Magnetic version has white stalks, the MagLev version has purple stalks, and the Ball-Core version has golden stalks.
Interestingly, MoYu also changed their center piece design to have a small bevel, unlike the flat surface of their previous RS3 Ms. This gives the cube a slightly different exterior look.
Customization
MoYu included their standard 9-setting dual adjustment system to change the spring/MagLev compression in all three versions of the cube.
Performance
Out of the box, all three versions of the MoYu Super RS3 M are very fast, borderline unusable. They have a stable, blocky feeling similar to those of the RS3 M 2020 and RS3 M 2021.
Because of how fast the cube is, it's strongly recommended to use a slower lubricant such as Galaxy or Nebula to make the cube more controllable.
In terms of performance, it's very similar to the older versions - put simply, fantastic.
The base model of the Super RS3 M feels like a somewhat marginal upgrade to the original, and the MagLev Super RS3 M feels like a somewhat marginal upgrade to the 2021 MagLev version.
Ari
The glossy plastic of the Super RS3 M combined with the slightly stronger magnets give the cube a slightly different feel from the 2020 and 2021 versions.
It's a clackier-sounding, less hollow-feeling puzzle.

Which cube should I buy?
With so many options that are so similar to each other, it can be hard to decide which cube is best for you.
MagLev or springs? MagLev makes the cube significantly faster. If you want a faster puzzle, then MagLev is a good choice for you.
Super, 2020, or 2021? The Super RS3 M is a slight upgrade to the older cubes. Since it has glossy plastic and a dragon scale texture, it feels like a RS3 M 2020/2021 that's already broken in right out of the box. In addition, it has slightly stronger magnets - if you found the magnets of the RS3 M 2020/2021 too weak, then the Super RS3 M is a good option. However, if you want to save money at all possible costs, then the RS3 M 2020 is your best bet.
Want corner-core magnets? The Ball-Core version of the Super RS3 M has factory-installed corner-core magnets, which improve the auto-alignment of the layers when turning.
